Dear Birth Mother,
I know how hard of a time this must be for you in your life right now, and I would like to commend you with how brave and selfless of a person you are for doing this act of kindness. It is not something just anyone can do, and it takes an extreme amount of strength on your part. I want you to know that I am here for you every step of the way through this journey. You’re extremely courageous just taking the time to read this letter.
Erin and Jordan Housley are some of the best people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. They are so kind and generous with all that they do. I knew in just reading their first letter that this was the couple for my son, Hayden. We had an instant connection when Erin and I first started emailing. I felt her love for me, and all other birth mothers, just through her heartfelt words. Even throughout all of my caseworker’s preparing and counseling, no one could have ever truly described to me the feeling of fulfillment knowing this was the right thing to do, placing Hayden with Erin and Jordan. I could feel in my heart that this was how things were supposed to be, and it was a weight off my shoulders knowing he will grow up happy in their home.
The Housley’s are an extraordinary family with only pure kindness in their hearts. They took my family and I in like we were their own, with open arms. This has been nothing but a positive experience for me, and my family as well. They were awesome at helping me through this journey as well as giving me the space and time I needed to heal. I was constantly updated with pictures and letters letting me know Hayden was the center of attention at any family gatherings. I have thoroughly enjoyed getting to know them and all of the family, and being able to be apart of Hayden’s life as a positive aspect. These are the most deserving people of true happiness. They have gone through so much and have stayed strong; taking whatever may come their way with a smile on their faces.
I also want to let you know that you will always be friend of mine. There is nothing easy about this decision and I praise you for being so mature in this situation. I would love to help you through this tough time in any way possible, whether or not you choose this incredible family.
